HOW COOL IS THAT | MARCH 2018

We bring you each month our coolest places to go, the food we love and experiences we enjoy. We will also share with you news about inspiring artists, designers, and entrepreneurs. Here the list of our 5 March favorites:

Cinta Coffee | Rotterdam

Cinta means “love or adore” in Indonesian, so Cinta Coffee means coffee lover. At Cinta Coffee, you will find Indonesian influences especially in the snacks and delicious freshly prepared lunch dishes. Cinta Coffee is a recognizable, stylish and modern concept where the community can come together and where the social aspect is one of their main focus. Cinta Coffee has a homey atmosphere with lots of green, comfy couches, nice chairs, art on the walls and of course they have delicious coffee.

When it comes to coffee, they aim to give you the best coffee experience possible. That is why they have partnered up with Brandzaak, a local coffee roastery. Their slow roast method gives the 100% Arabica coffee beans a natural taste.

Starting this summer Cinta Coffee has renewed their menu with some delicious dishes such as a grapefruit avocado toast & gado gado summer rolls. Of course you can also find their signature dishes on the menu like the Indo-tosti and IndoMie Leurs.

Selamat Makan!

Design Letters | Copenhagen

DESIGN LETTERS is a young Danish design company founded in 2009 by Mette Thomsen. After a career with words, first, as a copywriter in the advertising industry and later as a reporter and news editor at an interiors’ magazine in Denmark, Mette decided to unite her passion for words with her passion for design. ”In 2009 there were absolutely no fashionable letters in the interiors’ world. Only noisy, childish letters for wall decoration. Not something I would have in my home,” says Mette. And so she decided to found DESIGN LETTERS by launching a radically different series of one colour letters, later expanding to include Arne Jacobsen’s hand-drawn typography from 1937. Design Letters obtained the exclusive rights to use the typography on a range of designs, including stationery and accessories, such as for ’life-on-the-go’, with lunch boxes and thermo bottles.

The mission of DESIGN LETTERS is to invite people to play with letters and personalize their home and their look in a way never seen before. The company’s products are now represented in more than 2000 design-led shops in 56 countries.

Lemonaid | Hamburg

At Lemonaid and Charitea it’s all about social drinking; changing the world, drop by drop! Not just the desire to slake your thirst with delicious soft drinks, but to incite and shape the process of social change. With each bottle, we can all make a small contribution. A little, at least. Beyond Fairtrade, with every bottle that’s bought, Lemonaid & Charitea aim to help people and communities to help themselves. Focusing on parts of the world frequently disadvantaged in the global economy, they support local initiatives which work to improve social, economic and ecological structures. This is what we love about the Lemonaid & Charitea Foundation. So far, more than € 2,000,000 has been raised which the organization can put to good use for a variety of social projects in the growing regions.

Each bottle of Lemonaid & Charitea contains only organic ingredients and is Fairtrade certified. Furthermore resisting our throwaway culture, the empty bottles are turned into a variety of items, such as soap dispensers, sugar shakers, and vases.

Noma | Copenhagen

“We want to build the most creative space in the restaurant world,” chef René Redzepi said just before re-opening and it looks like he can live up to expectations. Check out one of the coolest restaurant openings to mark 2018: www.wallpaper.com/design/new-noma-restaurant-copenhagen-bjarke-ingels-design-2018.

Noma 2.0, the new 40-seat restaurant has opened again last February after the original Noma was closed a full year earlier in service of its founder’s next vision. Reservations for the new restaurant sold out in less than 24 hours, and there are over 35,000 people on the waiting list. The new restaurant, described as an urban farm-to-table restaurant, promises a creative and unique gastronomic experience and offers three distinct menus over the course of the year. With the focus exclusively on the season’s bounty: seafood in winter, vegetables in summer, game in fall. Vegetable season is on its way and will offer a vegetarian and a vegan menu, meaning that there will not be any meat or fish on the menu. If you are hoping for that, you can book in one of the other two seasons. Game and forest season, from early fall to January and seafood season from January to late Spring.

PS: Noma offers approx. 10% of their seats for students each night at a special table. Students will be seated together on a shared table and seats can be booked as parties of 1 or 2 (all guests on this table must be students) via noma.tocktix.com. These seats will be offered at a special price, including juice or wine pairings.
